Position Summary Information

Job Description

The Lewis College Of Business seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor for a 12 month tenure-track position to begin Fall, 2018. Candidate’s primary teaching and research interests lie in applied regional economics, applied econometrics, and quantitative methods in research. The position is half teaching and half grant writing and acquisition, research and outreach for Center for Business and Economic Research. The individual will be responsible for obtaining Center for Business and Economic Research related work and being the public “face” of Center for Business and Economic Research. Additionally, the individual will direct business and economic research pertinent to West Virginia and surrounding region, support economic development and service efforts, integrate business community through direct involvement in research related to West Virginia, the tristate and Appalachian Region, provide business and economic development support to private and public-sector constituencies and disseminate information, research findings and data. The individual selected must have strong verbal and written communication skills and be willing to travel and work with the West Virginia Legislature and other government bodies.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in Economics or closely related field.

The candidate must have experience or demonstrate the ability to publish in quality journals. Also, experience in an economic development center is highly desirable.
